Networking

One of Meath County Childcare Committee's aims is to facilitate as many opportunities as possible where childcare providers, childcare staff, childminders and parents receive the opportunity to meet, discuss issues that are affecting them and to enjoy each others company. Since the establishment of MCCC a number of events have been organised e.g. providers and childminders networks, arts and crafts workshops, music and movement workshops, celebratory evenings for all who completed training, arts trip to Belfast, talks on varies issues relating to child protections, managing challenging behaviour, food and nutrition, taxation, training options and social inclusionS Also a number of one day events have taken place e.g. fit tots day giving both parents and children a like the opportunity to experience different sports without having to incur the cost of joining clubs or paying membership fees.

We have representation on our Committee from the childcare providers of Meath. Our full day care representative is Luc Hemeryck of "Ratoath Childcare" Our sessional provider representative is Phyllis Geraghty of "Tír na nÓg" Gráinne Black, of Athboy Childcare, is our community provider representative. Marion Guckian is our chairperson.
